Thread: Memory settings and when Overclocking

Okay, being an Overclocking Newbie here, there are a few things about Memory settings I don’t fully grasp. Let’s use a CPU with a 9x multiplier and a 333mhz base clock, this means the CPU runs at 3.0Ghz. With 800mhz RAM you would run your system memory multiplier at 2.4. With 1066mhz RAM you would run your system memory multiplier at 3.2 With the above, whilst this would all ...

there's more to speed than just using a divider, some dividers work better ( we call them stronger ) each mobo type is different, so is each ram... you will have to work out which divider with what settings works best for you some examples to confuse you even more: 400FSB -- 1066mhz on the ram was faster than 425FSB and 1066Mhz on the ram (680i ) : why ?
