It may seem out of place, but this car is actually worth the mention at CleanMPG. The reason is its engine, which is another high-power direct-injection turbo 4-banger. That architecture is the future of gasoline, and we can think of these performance variants as the prototypes that will give way to the small high-efficiency powerplants that are just around the corner.
