I took Kempo when I was a kid. Still remember some of the katas. Very relaxing. They taught us Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in the Army--focus on groundfighting and grappling. And that's about it.

I took Shotokan as a kid, but I haven't done anything in years. One thing I remember about Shotokan was the axe kick. Holy crap could that do some damage, pretty impracticle but looked cool as hell.

i have first place in forms in TDK, 3rd place in sparring. the backfist is something i think it most useful. BJJ is good, but not for bigger mofos, cuz om only 5'5.

Tang Soo Do, similar to Tae kwon Do, but with MOAR weapons! (Breaking boards, nunchacku, swords, etc.. I sucked.) My son Matt excelled in it tho.

Japanese form of martial art. I believe it's the style Ken and Ryu practice, at least that whats attracted me to it at 11 years old.

Aikido is useful against zeds because it teaches you how to get away from people when they're trying to grab you.

You know what? I never thought about it that way, but you're right!
