Thread: Mangements Mismanagement Stories

Kennesaw Kid has something here. Maybe if we keep telling our stories here, someone with some COMMON SENSE just may see it and actually try and do something about it. You never know it's worth a try. Just lately my friend, a city driver was at a good customer of YRC picking up. He was approached and said that they had more freight for him and they needed at leat 26 feet of trailer space. He ...

got supervisors who don't know what a yard check is. got guys sitting home and freight sitting on the yard. Lazy azzes lift the door up and don't know to check to see where the freight is going. Dispatch tells you to hook to an mty to go make a pick up and there is freight on it.......You just can't fix stupidity in some people and the sad part is they are still getting paid for all their ...

Dispatch sent a man on a 50 mile run with an empty and had him bobtail in. Dispatch sends another man out bobtailling to the same 50 mile destination to bring in a loaded trailer. They are both on the runs during the same or close to it time frame.

There isn't enough room on the TB for explaining the F##k-ups in the dispatch office.

I can't tell you how many times I got sent to one of the Wisconsin terminals wit an MT set only to be asked when I got there "What are you doing here?"

We need an e-mail or phone hot line to Richard W. our Chief Strategy Officer, who is supposed to be the "overseer" of YRCW right now! Maybe he's got the gonads to do something about this "mismanagement" of OUR (yes WE are employee owners now) corporation!

Wow, thanks guys. I appreciate all this info. I'm a dispatcher at a terminal thats closing on the next coo. Wasnt totally sure if I wanted to stay and try to move to another terminal or go to the competition (Central & Conway are interested). At this point Central seems like a better place (I know, ouch, that kind of hurts right?). The bad news is I consider myself a decent dispatcher. ...

Now, why in the world would I not want to get out on time? I, as a supervisor, dont get overtime. So, why should I be expected to work it? So your darned right I plan to get out. But we also get things done, on time and generally everyone is pretty happy despite the b.s. lately. Those that generally want the o/t get it and those that dont, usually ***** about the ones that do. On the bright side, my days are numbered here one way or another so...

Yeah, they get out on time....but their schedule is a 50+ hour work week....paid at a 40 hour work week...and no overtime. You laugh, but you know they don't make near what drivers/dock make.
