Hi Everyone, Looking for recommendations for a one night stay near the Malpensa Airport. All previous posting are several years old. Looking for ease & comfort at the end of my 2 wk trip.
The Ramada Malpensa. Don't go by the "look" of it on the web site. This is a new place, clean and such, with a pool. The highlights are two: 1. It is a 15-minute drive in teh morning on a back road to Malpensa. Really easy. 2. Oleggio is a really cool old town, small with several great places to eat -- either cheap pizza or really good Slow Food (Il Gatto e Le Volpe). This si the only place we ...
If you want to treat yourself to a little bit of elegance on your last night, try Villa Malpensa. It is literally minutes from the terminal, has a shuttle if you need it, and has a pool.

If you use the advanced search , and search the Italy forum for Malpensa hotel, sorted by date, you will find quite a few recent discussions. Also on the main Slow Trav site, there are some reviews here . Search that page in your browser for Malpensa, since ...
I've been meaning to write up my trip report/reviews from my trip to Italy in May but just haven't got to it yet(mainly because I've been sick with one thing after another since I got back!). However, our last 2 nights in Italy in May, we stayed at a wonderful B&B called I Castagni that was recommended to us by Tim from Villa Sampaguita. It is in Casorate Sempione and is only 10 minutes from ...
Like you, I searched the postings for a hotel near Malpensa and based upon all the comments made a reservation at the First Hotel for late October. I'll post an update on it when we return. However, it looks like you have some pretty good recommendations to look into. Good luck!
I wrote a positive review for the First Hotel after my stay there last summer. I will be writing another review, not as positive after my stay there this summer. If you do not need a shuttle ride to the hotel than I would probably continue to recommend this hotel, although the breakfast was quite sparse this year and the promised free wifi as a returning guest was worthless since I could not ...
Any new info on this issue? I am starting to think about our final night near Malpensa, which has actually turned into 2 nights because Delta changed our flights (long story). My idea is that we would stay near the airport and drive my sister and her husband to the airport on the first morning, turn in the car and take the bus into Milan for the day. Return to airport and get some kind of ...
Hi Jan, Just replying to part of what you ask: if you're going to central Milan rather than connecting to a Trenitalia train, it's better to take the train from Malpensa to Cadorna station, rather than the bus to Centrale.

I second Andrews suggestion. From the Cardona station you can walk to most of the attractions. It is very close to the Sforza castle and about 30 min from the Duomo. If you don't mind a busy sidewalk eat at Steve's trattoria on Corso Magenta. Also, see my review of Tre Fratelli restaurant. Santa Maria della Grazie,( last supper painting) is about a 15 min walk from Cardona. If you don't want to stay in Milan it is about a 45...
