I know joaquin is all for animal rights. He hates animal cruelty, and I'm sure he hates the people responsible for slaughtering animals for a living. Yet I just saw pictures of him during the whole johnny cash/walk the line promotion time, where he was acting all buddy buddy with prisoners. He can shake hands, perform for, chat with, and take pictures with men who have raped, molested, killed ...

Unless you have prison records, you don't know what crimes the prisoners were convicted of. You're automatically assuming the worst. Great post, hester ! I'd add : unless you're not familiar with the belief in human redemption and belief in human ability to change after paying one's tribute to society. If we follow the OP's idea, then no prisoner should ever leave jail.

Oh yes, I'm so sure they screened every prisoner there to make sure they weren't rapists, pedophiles, and murderers. They were all actually there for not paying their taxes. Don't condemn anybody until you know his crime and have walked a mile in his shoes. Does this go for people who wear fur, and kill animals too? Because last I checked, members of PETA (which Joaquin supports )...

You're right, I DON'T believe in that bull when it comes to serious crimes. NO rapist, pedophile, or cold blooded murderer should be released from prison. Them being able to "change" makes no difference. Prison is punishment for their actions. The victim's families don't get any freedom from what happened, neither should the criminal. okay, powerpebble, I kind of see your point about the hypocracy, that is something that can be discussed. But what is the point of your post and the discussion in general? You don't seem to want to have a vital discussion about it, you just shoot down every response that comes from other posters, so why even start a post, if your mind is alredy set..?

I just wanted to point this out, and not have Joaquin fans running to his defense every single time someone points out an error. I've noticed that there are a select few regulars on here, who literally defend him every single time a person says something semi negative. Not once have I read a "you're right", or "I see your point". So thanks for at least giving that much.

I can't speak on Joaquin's behalf, so I'll touch on a couple points based on what I believe and based on things I've read on the PeTA website. I agree that Joaquin supports PeTA, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he supports every tactic and plan of action that they use. Excuse me, lol. I posted and I didn't make up any excuses for him. I agree with you and brought up how degrading PETA is to women, humph. I was also able to state my point without getting into any arguments. So maybe you just haven't gotten your point across properly.
