I work in a job where I routinely maintain health and beauty aisles 120 feet long.
I must be a perfectionist because I do not, and I will not EVER understand how a human being can pick an item up, look at it or smell it, and replace it on the shelf.... IN THE WRONG FREAKIN PLACE!!!!!!
Please..somebody explain to me what goes on in the mind of someone that does that...is it one of those,...
Often see these people in Walmart not even putting the item back in the correct aisle, but on the opposite side of the store. No, Cletus, the black denim jeans you realized you can't afford does not belong in the auto parts section.
It's probably a bit of both. Your priorities are different than someone else's. They don't feel putting back stuff in the proper shelf is their job. This is not a priority for them. Some of it could be that they're too lazy to take the time to put it back correctly, or putting it back just to make YOU happy and content is not at the top of your agenda. It bothers you because it DOES happen to be...
Yeah, it's just that no one cares. Sure it's the right thing to do, but you can walk all the way across the store and put the item back where you got it. But you'll never catch any of the associates thanking you, you aren't going to save any money, so just drop it like it's hot.
That said I used to work in a grocery store, so I always find myself putting it back where it belongs, because I ...

Ok so maybe I have a different outlook on this. You have a job. You have customers. If not for the customers, you have no job? See the cycle?
Anyway, I had the opportunity to go downtown in a middle eastern country and ...

Thats just the way it is...
For instance if you work in a restaurant you never notice how people dont put their stuff away or drop sodas all over the floor until you are the person who has to clean it
I gave up trying to understand people a long time ago

What you don't see and can't account for are the number of people who actually do put an item back in the right place. The reason you can quantify those who don't is due to something being misplaced or out of place.
I agree with you though, it drives me nuts when I see people do that. It's a courtesy thing, which for many reasons has slowly died out along with common sense. My theory is ...

Thanks for the spelling correction, even if it was out of spite. I pride myself in writing legibly, but I honestly didn't know the spelling on that one. And to Mike.....well said. I agree 100%
Dan, that's a good point about the bags and insurance and stuff. Still, that should be rolled into the price, otherwise people have a tendency to not want to tip if they're already paying a service charge. Catch 22 with tips. If you don't get a tip, then you cry like a beeyotch and then do stuff to harm other people? That's extortion. Again, if you feel the need to get tips when you may not deserve one, you're in the...
Maybe they should cut out pizza delivery, and customers can drive their own cars to go get the pie and save that service fee. Also, how about dispensing with waiters/waitresses and make each restaurant self service... I ask those who pride themselves in dictating who gets tips and who doesn't...have you ever worked at a job where you earned tips? If so, how did you like it when you did a good job and somebody stiffed you? Did it motivate...

I tip. I tip 20%. I try to clean up after myself even though it's not my job. I am nice to the wait staff. I try to make their job easier. I do it because I know how it feels to work 3 jobs, one full and two parts. I know how it feels to put in endless hours slaving to the man only to get pooped on at payday. I have also thrown discounts randomly to customers that make my day, or make me laugh, usually to those that sound like they are...

Ive been guilty of doing this on occasion if im in a hurry and decide i dont want something, although i usually leave it at the checkout counter or toss it in the goback cart, i try not to just toss something in a random place, cuz i used to work in a grocery store also and i hated it..i also stack up the plates and silverware when we finish eating at a restaurant cuz i used to be a busboy and hated stackin peoples plates for them..its a habit...
