I haven't tried in XP since at this point it's a legacy OS, it would probably be easier to do the procedure on a Vista machine if you have access to one then just copy the XP SP3 disk over to it should work the same way. Using this method of making a bootable USB drive doesn't work with Windows XP. It only works with Vista & Windows 7. If you want to make a bootable Windows XP installation USB drive try a program called " WinSetupFromUSB ". I've had problems with the newest version(0.2.3) however version 0.1.1 worked flawlessly every time. Not to crap on your guide, but for anyone who wants an easier way of...

Will the free trial version do it or do you need to pay 29.95 for the full blown version?

A trial version will work just fine. 1. Download and install UltraISO. 2. Plug in a USB drive. 3. Open the image file or setup DVD of Vista/W7 using UltraISO. 4. Click on the " Bootable " dropdown menu. 5. Choose " Write disk image... ". 6. press the " Write " button.
