Thread: Makayla, please

Started 2 months, 2 weeks ago by Dieselsmom
I'm trying not to overreact and I'm hoping it's nothing. But it appears Makayla has lost control of her bowels this week. Josh is working out of town all week, so the kids have been in the house from the time I leave in the morning until I get home around 6:00. I've left the twins out of their crates because Makayla has a habit of not pooping when I put her out in the morning and so ...

Rachel, It could be anything, but that is how Chyna's poop issues started. I was finding little poop balls in the house and actually thought it was Pugsly since his health was going downhill, and he seemed to be wobbling quite a bit. Then, one day Chyna was in our bathroom just walking around when the poop started falling. She doesn't have any feeling about when she needs to poop, ...

Rachel ,Blossom does the same thing..She has a very weak backend and lots of times her poop just comes out without her realizing it....BLossom is 13 or pretty darn close to it.Blossom also has on occasion pooped in her crate. I would have her checked out by the vet and then make a decision....Good luck and lkeep us updated...

When Sammy was alive he would do that, too. He was weak in his backend and as he walked along he would poop. He would feel it just as it was coming out and try and make a beeline to the door. LOL. At least it was hard and very easy to pick up. Ahhh, the fun of owning a pug. I wonder if it is because of the curly tail that so many have backend problems as they get older? I often wonder ...

Well, the vet feels it's related to her hips - most likely caused by inflammation back there, since the hip nerves and rectal nerves come off the spine at the same place. So we're going to do daily pain meds for 10 days and see if that helps her bowel control improve. If it does improve, then it most likely was caused by inflammation and may be something we deal with on and off ...

Solo has done this since he injured his back. Have you tried acupuncture to see if it will help?

Rachel, Poor Kayla. Chyna is also mortified, and you can see the panic in her face when she realizes she is pooping. She gets in such a panic and tries to start heading for the door, but the poop is coming, and she just doesn't know what to do. After she has left the poop trail, she runs and stands as far away from it as possible. We joke and say that she thinks that I am pooping ...
