Thread: Magnum Research Desert Eagle 44 mag ammo

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by alligator123
> I have just purchased a Magnum Research Desert Eagle 44 Mag. and was wondering what is the best ammo to use. I understand soft nose ammo will plug up the ports so I have been looking at jacketed hollow point. Has anyone shot jhp's with this gun and does it feed smoothly? I can't seem to find any fmj 44 ammo. Thanks

> I shoot soft nose through mine without problem, along with jhp. The only thing that gives me issues is .44 specials, it efectively turns it into a single shot. Just clean it after you shoot it and you shouldnt have any issues out of it. It just isnt a gun you can shoot, and put away dirty.

> Go to the Magnum Research Website, frequently asked questions and it will give you a list of ammo that will work. I have tried other ammo and found the reliability wasn't there. When I have shot off the list I have had no problems. http://www.magnumresearch.com/FAQ_deserteagle.asp
