i bought a pan european a few weeks back for £400 as a project and have it to a stage where im considering getting it m.o.t'd and have a couple of questions for anyone in the know. 1. do i need mirror(s) 2. does the steering lock have to work 3. does it matter if the centre stand is bent to the point where it wont work(sidestand is fine). 4.does the speedo have to ...

ah! whenever my bike has had a centrestand they've always put the bike on it at some point. Not sure if it's a necessity or not though, sorry.

should be alright with all of them. dont see why the steering lock would fail an MOT :s and mate passed his with a broken speedo, rev counter etc etc. so you should

They use the center stand just because it's easier than using their machine to check the steering head etc. I am pretty sure if you just say the center stand dosn't work it wont fail anything.

Some of the checks e.g. headlight alignment, bike needs to be vertical. If it has centre stand they'll put it on that, if only sidestand, might ask you to sit on it.
