Thread: MY IDEAS FOR THE CAST OF 'THE HOST' and the rationale behind them

But when Wanderer (a soul) gets Melanie's body, Melanie doesn't like die...so her mind is still in there with Wanderer. And Mel convinces Wanderer to go find Mel's brother and boyfriend (since Wanderer can feel Mel's emotions). And they go to find...

I have put a lot of thought into these Melanie - Evangeline Lilly from Lost. Some may say she is too old,as Mel is only 20, but makeup can make her look a little younger. She seems very strong and fit physically as well as mentally, which is perfect for Mel. Jared - Jared Leto I initially thought that Jensen Ackles from Supernatural would be good, but on second thoughts I think he is a bit short. Mr Leto's blue eyes and strong character...

I completely agree with your Wanda/Pet & Ian. Hayden & Ian would be perfect for the parts. I am, however, a fan of Jensen Ackles as Jared. I dont think he is too short, he's about 6'1, isn't he? Melanie... I've always liked Camilla Belle, coz she's tall and young enough and just fits the character description. Mandy Moore is an option too, because she's very Mel-ish (looks-wise and how she speaks)...

I agree with your cast, though I'm not crazy about Evangeline Lilly or Hayden Panettiere. Ryan Reynolds could play Jared, too. Though I love Jared Leto. T~O KBitch Does that make me an accessory to cat rape?

Yes Jensen is 6'1" and Jared Leto 5'9" it is just that acting next to Tom Welling and Jared Paladecki who are both 6'3" or 4" they make Jensen look on the short side which obviously he's not.

I pictured Eliza Dushku as Mel when I was reading the book but I agree about Sophia Bush, she would be great for the part as well. T20's T~O #1231 ~Team Edward~
