MRSA:Magic Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
As I was writing a backstory for a character in a FR campaign, I was trying to come up with a way to kill off his wife from natural causes. I thought to myself, what about cancer?
But the problem with cancer? Clerics. Those pesky magic healers are everywhere--there's no way cancer would ...

Re: "The Bard is Supposed to do a Little Bit of Everything."
Some would say the Factotum is a balanced Bard. It's better at being Jack, where the Bard has its own niche.
The best Bards, though, pick one or two things and specialize. I've played blaster Bards, gish bards, skill monkeys, etc. Rarely do I see a generalist Bard, so the ...

There's another caveat. (Su) abilities that don't replicate a spell are also absorbed, granting spell levels equal to the generating creature's HD. So a hellhound's breath weapon grants spell levels equal to its HD.

Re: My group wants a cleric Persistent Vigorous Circle is by far the best Healing. Other than that, few Heals/Mass Heals around helps, of course. If you have a way to apply Reach Spell for free (such as the one-level dip in Hierophant), Chain Heal can be accomplished with a Rod on a 6th level slot. Of course, Revivify also ensures that even if people die, they don't really. And yeah, just go to town with team buffs and perhaps a few solo...

Re: How does having an alignment system affect your game? In general, this makes the most sense for D&D. There are a few philosophies that argue you are morally obliged to try and control your thoughts- and atone whenever you have a "bad thought"- however, in general, they tend to be less commonly practiced. Some of the more cynical views are that everyone would be evil if it wasn't for their perception of the...
