Hi, I am doing a project for school and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am looking into MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 technologies and patent law. Since MPEG-4 is replacing MPEG-2 (somewhat) what happens to the patents when they expire? Do companies that still have MPEG-2 Patents get revenue from MPEG-2 decoders made after that date while others do not? I was ...
