Thread: MPEG2 playback doesn't work after migration

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by goodcow

Everything's working perfectly fine though except for the MPEG2 issue and I wanted to wait until Snow Leopard hit 10.6.1 or 10.6.2 before installing it and wiping my drive to do a fresh install of everything. Even if wipe and install is the "best" thing to do, anyone have an idea as to how to just get MPEG2 playback working in the meantime?...

anyone have an idea as to how to just get MPEG2 playback working in the meantime? The codecs are located here: Hard Drive > System > Library > QuickTime. Compare the list of codecs on the old machine to the new one. You might try copying the missing codecs to the same location on your new machine. Will it work? I have no idea, having never migrated my pro applications. ...

Everything's working perfectly fine until it doesn't. We've seen too many reports on this approach to installing. good luck though. MacPro 2.26Ghz 8-core Nehalem 12 Gbs RAM Mac OS X (10.5.7)...
