Thread: M59/66 night sights

Started 3 years, 9 months ago by Halo
Do the night sights on your Yugo still glow? Mine still glow very faintly. Were they ever replaced periodically, after production? I figure the rifle must be at least 35 years old, so that's pretty good life on the night sights. The Meprolights on my Glock are only supposed to last 12 years.

What kind of sights does yours have? Here's how you can tell http://users.cableaz.com/~mjbvrb/sightid.jpg . If they are phosphor, they should technically glow forever. All you need to do is charge them up with a flashlight or something and they should glow really brightly. Mine do. If they're tritium, then recharging them with a light won't work. They're "burnt out" for good.

Go to Walmart and buy some glow in the dark paint and do the touch up and there you have it! Glow in the dark sights for < $1! Snotsucker
