if u look for sr-25 in Wikipedia u can see our army buying some of them,
and the M110 is their new version of sr-25.
the us army already adopted it as the standard marksman rifle and i guess we're next.
just give it some time and you will see..

M110 is better for shooting from long distances, but M16A2E3 is better to move with alongside general infantry.
Personally I think Kel-Tec RFB is very promising.
Well I'd just prefer a civilian AR in 5.56 if I were to engage a target with precision fire in a shorter range environment (like an Urban Terrain). Reason is you can get a railed "Flat Top" upper that is more compatible with optics and capable of a lower profile (short 10 round mags like the old PSG-1 mags are available even for the 6.8SPC rounds) and you won't have the extra weight and height ...
i dont see why our marksman that move with alongside general infantry use m4 and not m16, it has flatter bullet trajectory and much more accurate up to 600m.
does it the same in the us army?

At 600 meters you are going to want something with more pop anyway. Maximum effective range for the 7.62x51mm NATO is about 700 meters give or take. With 7.62 NATO you can engage a target beyond 700 meters but you are not guaranteed a ...
The .338 Lup. even with a muzzle brake kicks like a mule. Yep, the 7mag, with full jackets really penetrates. I have a bunch of pulled that are armor piercing, and they are awesome in what they will penetrate. Shot completely through a old engine block, steel not aluminum.

Sgt Cav. Recommend reading Trigger Men by Hans Halberstadt. It contains more than a few battlefield accounts of the M4/M16A4 DMRs utilizing the ACOG telescopic sight and the 77-grain bullet (with many accounts of the latter's far superior performance to the standard 62-grain bullet).
In places like Afghanistan where heavier calibres than the 5.65 seem to provide a more lethal outcome, would the current stock piles of 7.62 rifles in Western countries involved be enough to replace the currently issued 5.56. A horses for courses solution, plus the advantage of a standard round for all the squad weapons, i.e. , rifles, machine guns and sniper rifles. You would get an increase in range and hitting power, the only downside would...
I'm not an expert but from what I know of the M16\M4 is that the barrel of the M4 is reinforced while the M16 is not (at least the ones I use) and because the M4's barrel is reinforced it can shoot armor piercing bullets while the M16 cant, which could mean that It can kill at longer ranges (I'm just guessing). I use the M16A1 so I don’t know if the newer versions have reinforced barrels.
