Thread: Low On Power

Started 3 weeks, 4 days ago by ElusiVe_
Hey all, Just got my 2007 bf typhoon back from the tuners after fitting a Stage 1 Nizpro Kit (cooler, redrilled injectors, valve springs, walbro fuel pump, custom pipework xcal 3 tunes) I am making 277rwkw on 10psi. I have been reading through multiple posts and I am a little concerned that the power figure is low when compared to others that have done the equivalent work or less. So my ...

for a start ,why do all those mods to run 10psi. you nearly could have achieved that figure with a cat and a tune. people that run the kit you have want to run 17-18 psi and your looking around the 350-370rwkw. that power for 10psi is prob on the money. :buttonit: I could be wrong, I am I missing something here. looks like your new to all this, so tell us what you were wanting to achieve out ...

Hi, I was wanting to acheive the 300rwkw mark and I thought that with all those mods this would have been definately achievable. The tune was solely up to the mechanic and he decided on 10 psi due to the car having a standard exhaust. I am new to all this but I was definately under the impresion that the power levels achieved are low. I was told the car was tuned to 294rwkw but started to ...

tell us the state your in. the money you spent on valve springs could have got you a decent kat. he,s fed you a load of horse sh*t anyhow. prob saw you didn,t know much and took you for a ride and not the car. I just checked the nizpro site. its in black and white. that bf 2 do not need valve springs(I was under the impression it was all bf) but a cat will be needed and to expect figures round ...

I am in Qld. I spent 6.8k on the above mods. Are you saying that with the mods listed that the power level seems to be about right? Would a high flow cat be needed to make 300rwkw? Or were the mods done enough to make this power This post has been edited by tab : Yesterday, 06:58 PM Reason for edit:: Quote removed

To clear things up I never specified 300rwkw I supplied a budget figure and was given the stage 1 option I just asked if the power figures were low and I was after a few comparisons I also had a few queries about parts to power that xtreme tuning answered well. The service was great and the car runs very well. My query about costs vs power has been answered thx all

To be honost mate for that power I would have said a cat anways, hopefully the cat would have fixed the valve spring issue if it had one. Like I said we half had stock cars with and without tunes give spring issues but in have of the cases a cat will fix it. It would have been worth while doing the cat first and then the springs if it was still warranted. Im not trying to have a shot at anyone with my replies either guys so sorry if its come...

We call it as we see it Mick. I also remember your first F6 falling over needing valve springs! Nothing manditory , just advised due to results we have seen. I would say we have seen plenty of cars on the dyno and therefore are qualified to offer advise for the benifit of the customer. No one wants to see engine failures due to valve float, and as I have said in the past, if you dont like what we advise , you go elswhere , they will...

the thing is elite used to be a site sponsor , it's that whole dark side alliance between workshops that some how turned a couple of great shops into zombies once they became apart of the group. not really in the whole spirit of the modified car community rant over

Dont worry too much about your output at this stage as it is only half done. Once you do your exhaust and cat you will get the result your after.. I too did it arse about and did my cooler, injectors, pump, springs and then the stage 2 kit all with the standard exhaust. It was only after I did my exhaust did the car feel the way I wanted it. I lost power on the dyno when I did my auto and stally but after the exhaust was done it felt balanced and...

Seems a bit pricey but you get that at some places, regardless enjoy your new found power and free up that exhaust, alot of ppl are going xforce exhausts 4 inch dump 3.5 single system or twin 2.5, all for $1500 do that and youll have no problems in making low to mid 300's depending on how much boost the tuner will run safely.
