Thread: Lounge Media PC Spec

I'm going to build a HTPC machine for use as a HTPC / gaming machine. I aim to keep the cost down and I'll probably be buying second hand parts to achieve this. -I'm thinking of going down a core 2 duo/quad route. So maybe a e8xxx or q8/9/xxx. -The mobo has to have spdif out and a PCI-E 16x2.0. -Quiet is important, though not to the extent where each cooler has to be passive. -The case...

Could anyone recommend a mATX board that is a good overclocker and has spdif out on the back I/O plate>

Thanks, I've seen the GA-E7AUM-DS2H recommended too but to be honest both these are more than I want to spend. I'm looking at no more than £40 and probably second hand to archive this. Do any mATX boards have PCI-e 2.0?

Back to cases and power supply's... I'm thinking of an Antec NSK 2480 case. It comes with a 380W PS. I've read it's a decent PS and not a cheap no-frills PS that comes with many cases. Would this PS acomadate a decent GPU (4850/4870/4890|260/275)? This is a link to a page with info on the power supply. 32a on the 12v rail. --> http://www.silentpcreview.com/article591-page5.htm l ...

The AM3 785G is pretty much spot on, I don't think you would regret going for that.
