Lucky you, don't expect it to last m8, AOL does this then you may have 2-3 day sof bad services every 6 months or so, then all good again
Did anyone else's whole AOL go off last night at about 1am? I thought I'd done something at first as it happened just after I'd installed an update on one of my browsers. However I checked the router log and the connection was down (but still synched to the exchange).
I went to bed and found it working this morning - according to the router logs, it came back on about 20 mins after it...
Since the downtime last night, it's been slow this evening.
The evening speeds had been fine for a month, it's a shame they can't maintain a consistently good evening speed (like they'd promised they would in that e-mail they sent out a while ago ).

It's extremely slow for us tonight as well, 79Kbps.

Our connection also went down in the very early hours of Friday. Before Friday I could listen to Internet radio as much as I wanted and it would be fine, but today it just keeps buffering every second.
I wonder what AOL is playing at.
I assume you're on a non-LLU exchange too? I think they're playing around with the BT > AOL connection again.
Mine was fine today until about 5:30pm today, then it slowed down and it remained fairly slow until about 7:05... when it suddenly started to speed up and it's been at normal speeds since.
What's your speed in the evenings been like during the last few weeks?...
I've just found out that there was a well-publicised major football match being streamed yesterday between 5pm and 7pm. As if AOL need any more proof that their servers can't cope with the demand...
Yep, there are no LLU services on our exchange.
The speeds were surprisingly good for about a month before Friday, often reaching the full 4Mbps of our AOL Gold subscription. Today it's a bit better than yesterday (0.5Mbps), but not as good as it was.

Your exchange is showing as being congested unfortunately, which is probably the cause of your low speeds - http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/?exchange=Oswest... My exchange isn't though, and that can be seen by the fact I'm now getting almost the full 7Mb! That's the fastest I've seen at this time of night; normally it's around 1 - 1.5Mb; sometimes up to 3 - 4 if I'm very lucky. It was...
That's interesting because we're still on the old Gold package (currently 4Mbps) with a line sync of 7.6Mbps, yet we haven't had a speed go beyond 4Mbps ever. I wonder if there's a difference between how the old Silver and Gold packages are handled.
I just dropped to 800k and after 30 minutes now back up to 4.9MB.At 6pm tonight I was on 7.6MBs Pete Formally known as BB4Grimsby National award winner for Broadband Campaigning
Seriously, 2am and it's only just starting to stabilise, what the hell. I personally am waiting until the 12th for that work on my exchange, then'll be requesting my MAC. I've been checking out BE and their value plan and from what I've seen in their section on this forum, they seem great.
My exchange only has about 700 users and there is no LLU at all. It would be interesting to know what exchanges exist with low numbers of users and indeed what sort of low numbers of users the smallest exchanges support?
