Hi, we're a company based in the UK that is looking to mirror our current system in the US with a reputable provider.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend a company that offers COLO. There are that many out there that it's hopefully safer asking for recommendations/advice now.
We currently have 4 racks of kit and a feed that is currently averaging around 20mbps but can burst up ...
What;s your budget? Plenty of hosts on the forum will be able to accommodate your needs but we will need to know what you expect to spend first.
Welcome to WHT by the way!
I recently moved some equipment into Colo4Dallas and have been happy with the service and support so far. They seem to have a very positive image in general . . . google them, they may be a fit for you.
Depending on who you're serving to some areas of the country may work better than others. It's worth looking in the colo advertisement section of WHT for some introductory deals to try out various providers.
If you are in the UK, you would like to have a facility in east coast. If your budget allows, contact Voxel in NewYork. I haven't heard any bad thing about them. A bit cheaper, contact CyberWurx in Atlanta. They have great team that is one of the best team I have worked with. I didn't have any issue when I was with them.
I hear good thing about Continuum recently, but haven't had chance to ...
I think 2 - 4 cabinets is "big" enough request that only "serious" hosting companies will be able to accommodate. I think almost any colo company will be great for you. Get in touch with them, ask for a price, network architecture/providers, location, security, support/price and you'll be OK.
How important is location for you? If you're looking for something East coast, Voxel.net is a great place to start (already suggested in this thread). If location doesn't matter, check out Colo4Dallas (again already mentioned) or Netriver, they're in Seattle.
I've had personal experiences with all three and each one is an excellent choice for the services and locations they offer.
Good ...
We currently use http://continuumdatacenters.com/ and http://wholesaleinternet.com are very happy with them. I have used http://colo4dallas.com and http://webnx.com before, again no complaints. If you were looking in Canada, http://scratchtelecom.com is pretty good.
Don't bother with the "what's your budget stuff" You will find that all of these places are well ...
Just wanted to say thanks for all of the comments, as I said we're currently based in the UK and actually have 9 racks full of kit here. The plan is to do a limited rollout (just a couple of racks) initially, but as the US is a fairly large place it wasn't exactly easy to know where to look. I'll have a look at everywhere mentioned and get in touch with the ones that meet our requirements. Thanks again guys, Mike
