You are wrong. The correct way is to put a nut on the bolt, cut it with a hacksaw then wind the bolt off, this way you dont need to file the end Any other suggestion renders your incompetent

While the nut method does work it is still a good idea to gently file the end after the nut has been wound off to round of the flat end of the screw. Some times the end of the raised part of the thread can be thin enough to distort or break off when the screw is used. This can cause the screw to jam in the back box.
