Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by RShellhouse
I am considering a longer cue due to several things including my arms being freakishly long (35")... now I tend to use 30" shafts (a love of the OB shafts) .... Now...Ive been told many different things from a normal 59" cue will be fine if the weight is set right.....Then again someone said get a 60" split 30/30....someone else said get a 31-32 butt weight for a 30" shaft but tell the ...

And about DBK Cues........i now know several guys who tested his *russian weapons*- and they were ALL so upset about the special hit of his cues. Especially ppl who already owned cues from incredible cuemakers(like Scruggs, who has really a reproducable product with a hammer hit) bought a DBK Cue. And he can do almost anything u want from that what i heard I could bet- if u re gettin a ...

I am also in this same boat, but also have the height to go with it. As of right now i'm using a 58" cue and holding it on the very end of the butt. Changing my stance and standing up a bit more has helped dramatically, and my neck doesnt kill me at the end of the night. If i put my 30" shaft on now it just doesnt feel right. It would be nice if there was some type of rental ...

I make 6-pie laminated butts out of many heavy woods and can still come out at 18 oz. Can make you a butt 31" and 31" shaft to match. On the other hand, I am 6'6" and played with a 30" shaft for quite awhile and have gone back to a 29" shaft. I usually grip on the handle, not the butt sleeve. Unless you are always playing on 9' tables and love to let your stroke out every shot there ...

RShellhouse replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Did you have to balance it differently? Did you need the shafts to do so? R

Ok so I guess the question I should be asking is who is capable of building a 32 or longer butt and from a cuemakers point of view is that the wrong thing to do? R

I would say that most of us can do what you are looking for. I have built 30 or so longer butt ends. I prefer to keep the butt and shaft the same length. However I have done longer butt ends and 29" without any problems! You just have to account for the extra length when building the cue for balance of the overall length of the cue!
