I am dying to get my hands on a lever gun in 30-30 or something comprable, but I can't find one under 350 that is worth buying, and the only way I can afford it is to sell my remington 710 in 30-06. Does anyone know how much its going for now? Its got a bushnell 3-9x scope on it and everything is like new.
I'm sure you could get a used one from somewhere for less than $350. I have no clue what the Remington is worth. you might try and trade it at a gun shop that accepts trades.
Hit gunshows, pawnshops and garage sales with sporting goods. Also read the Classified's, Craigs List and just type in whal you're looking for in Google every once in a while. Don't forget your network! Tell everybody that you know what you are looking for.
You HAVE to know what you're looking at. I've never paid over $300 for a lever. To include a pre-64 Win in 30-30 in a premium, full ...
Check the classifieds here on TFL and locally. I picked up an in need of TLC Win M94 for $100 plus shipping. Cost me another $40 to buy the parts to fix it, the firing pin was missing as well as the rear sight was broken. I wound up paying a gunsmith $80 to put it in, as I just couldn't seem to find the time to work on it. I've got about $250 total in my lever gun when all is said and done.
I see you are also in fla. Tha pawn shops around here (Palm Bch. Co.) are pricy at best but you can sometimes score A deal. Good luck gun hunting. It's part of the fun.
If you take the time and shop around you are bound to eventually find a good deal. I just bought a 336 with mount, rings, and a cheap scope for $250.

I too love lever action rifles.
I own a Winchester pre '64 in 30/30 and a Uberti Yellowboy Rifle with octagon 20" barrel in .45 long colt.
I've shot several deer with the Winchester and lots of rounds thru the Uberti shooting SASS (cowboy shooting).
The Marlin model 336 in .35 Rem is a keeper. Look on Gunbroker and at pawn shops. They usually sell for 250-400. But if you want the mack-daddy Marlin, the new 308mx is fine lever rifle for about 600:

There's a web site for FL folks looking to buy, sell, and trade guns. DON'T take it to a pawn shop - they'll give you .25 on the dollar for it

Here's one with a scope for 385:
