That ONE scene is really the films only sour moment...aside from that it is pretty damn good...I've read the novel and felt that it really delivered on all fronts except that ONE really, really bad one

Revolutionary Road is a wonderful novel, but the screenplay is dreadful and reduces every angst that Yates so meticiously described into soap operaish gimmicks. "Mental illness!" "Anger!" "Infidelity!" "Abortions!" "Death!"

Ugh, yes. RR the novel is such lovely work. That whole dinner table scene was such a train wreck... from all involved. Acting, writing, directing...
