Thread: Lets get some 09 WRX specific springs made
Started 7 months, 2 weeks ago by Brack
Lets get 20 people to commit to these, and Myles Williams of Racecomp Engineering will get them made.
These will be similar height and performance level as the ones now being sold by Racecomp for the 08/09 STi's, but specific for the 09 WRX dampers.
We will need to show interest.

this is a much needed product, currently there are no 09 specific springs on the market. springs geared toward the 08 are much too soft, STi springs unfortunately have fitment issues.
I'd very surprised if there wasn't some real interest in this. I'd sign up if I wasn't running D Stock this year.

this is very true. Forget about springs, there are almost no specific products made for the 09 wrx yet.
I would love to get my hands on some stiffer springs I feel like i wouldnt really want to drop the car too much though, just need a higher spring rate.

That is ...
im thinkin of like a 0.6" front, 0.4" rear drop. And a %33 overall stiffening of springs over stock springs rate. I suppose i could go for a maximum of 0.8" drop. I honestly feel like the car is already very well seated, just desire stiffer springs at the moment.

They will be like these, only for the 09 WRX.

And No, the STi's in above thread are not a good match for the WRX dampers. I have already tried them.

Just in case there are any members out there that are thinking about waiting for another manufacturer who is on par with bilstein to bring a competitive product. Don't hold your breath. I contacted a certain schock manufacturer that begins with K and ends in I over a month ago. I just heard back today that it's "on their radar", but even if they decide to pursue it don't expect anything for at least another...
i'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to sways either so my question is for a DD wrx that i MAY auto-x once or twice a year, what would be the recommendation? I'm thinking something that may be more neutral rather than an over/understeering would be preferred? and can i achieve the neutrality with just a single (rear or front) sway? i'm ordering the shocks w/ the yellows if that matters.

Thank you for the clarification. I should say, I'm no expert. Nor do I play one on TV Yes, a D-Stock...
