Last week the Obama Administration announced it would not seek to federally prosecute individuals or dispensaries who use or provide medicinal marijuana, as long as they complied with state law. Instead, a Justice Department memo said, state prosecutors should pursue "significant traffickers" of illegal drugs.
FTA: ""Woody Harrelson is really happy about it," joked Fox News contributor and radio show host Laura Ingraham, who appeared on "This Week" as a guest commentator. She called it the "Cheech and Chong initiative" of all the Obama adminstration's initiatives." What a bunch of ***** *****. Maybe if some of their viewers took a hit now and then, they'd be less uptight.
For Fox "News" droids like that harpy, the tax & spend drugwar is a religion. To sane people, it's a stupid and expensive policy. What I don't get is how they can call themselves "conservative" and still support wasting all this money & corrupting all these cops and politicians.
@JigoroKano: Cannabis is not just recreational. It has many many medical uses. That's why it will eventually become legalized. Not because of the "social" effects.
I thought it was a pretty funny comment from Ingram. BTW, Ingram is a commentator, not a reporter. It's no different than Olbermann making cracks on conservatives.
If more of them got ARRESTED for merely "doing something", as opposed to "doing something TO someone", then things would start to change. No. They're on TV. So whenever THEY do something wrong, WE'RE insulated from hearing about it... by them no less! They're a bunch of hypocritical *****. They can lie us into wars ALL... YEAR... LONG... but let me take ONE... *****... LOUSY... TOKE, in front ...
Ingram occasionally cracks me up. She's about the only one of those asshats who has a sense of humor a la Olbermann or Maddow. I can handle the opposite pov as long as you can be funny about it. :)
But their commentary IS a part of their news. They're trying to shrug off the criticism by saying the Whitehouse must be referring to commentary shows like Hannity or O'Reilly, but the truth is that you don't need to go to those shows to find serious bias on FNC. It's injected even into their supposedly objective news stories. Case in point, the countless "accidental" labeling of corrupt/immoral...
i had a friend who grew up in mexico. he said the local pot farmer would run through his fields in his special leather jacket, for a few hours. then he would go back to his house, and peel the "hash" off of his jacket with a butter knife. now that's the life, brothers and sisters.
Not sure why I'm being dugg down. BP (I think) was lawfully allowed to dump tons and tons of waste into Lake Michigan after much debate. How is that not an example of terrible government in nearly the same fashion that marijuana is still illegal? I know it's a stretch but if you have a brain that works, you understand why this makes sense.
Not once during his Presidential Campaign did he mention stopping Warrantless Wiretaps. I'm still angry that they are going on, but I know Obama didn't say he would get rid of them, and even voted for them while running.
I live in Illinois, and I have two casinos in my hometown. We also have at least one off-track betting parlor. You can also own guns, so long as they are not assault rifles. You can own any kind of knife you want, but you cannot legally carry a long bladed knife on you in public. And as far as I know, immigrants are certainly allowed (as illegal immigrants are illegal anywhere, and are different than immigrants). We do have strict firework and...
Weed Article = Buried I can care less whether or not it's ever legalized. I don't smoke weed, never will, and frankly I don't care whether or not the government forbids others to smoke it. Doesn't effect me one bit. And don't give me that "medicinal" BS. I've never heard of a doctor prescribing "smoking a substance" before the weed issue came along. If it has medicinal...
