Thread: Leg Warmers - Waterproof or Thermal

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by pprendeville
Hi all, Going to buy some leg warmers shortly. Do you recommend waterproof or thermal. Are the waterproof ones very thick? If it's lashing rain will thermal ones keep you relatively dry/warm? I'd prefer a thin skinned pair that will keep the cold at bay (and not have me roasting) and kinda fry. Anyone got the specialized ones that are in cycleways?

I bought these in cycleways...they are very cosy, don't overheat and have held up well in bad rain. Highly recommended

It's more important to keep warm than dry (not sure if they come waterproof anyway) A bit more expensive, but bibtights are better suited to colder days than a combination of shorts and leg-warmers

I've never heard of waterproof leg warmers. Are there waterproof shorts too? because otherwise I just don't get it. I have the specialized knee-warmer and leg warmers. They're good. Very comfy anyway. Mice and fleecy on the front and thinner lycra on the back so they don't bunch behind the knees. Below a certain temp the reason to wear fleecy 3/4s or tights is that the shorts would be too ...

if ya want waterproof buy a pair of tights as already mentioned no such thing as waterproof shorts, anyway no matter how waterproof something is your still going to get wet if its raining heavy.
