Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by marketmanager
We are installing a kitchen backsplash next week and are torn between three tile choices. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Below is a picture of our kitchen - the wall is a light olive, cabinets -honey maple, granite -black, grey & white flecked. I also attached a pictures of three tiles. I like the variation of the slate but it has a linear movement which might not be as great for your space as a more vertical look. For that I'd go for option 3.

I agree regarding the slate, I think the textures in the slate compete with the granite. We are leaning toward option 1, glass, ceramic tile. A green colored tile wouldn't be an option, in case we decide to change the color of the kitchen in the future, we would be limited. Thank you for your suggestions!

I like #1 or #3. Option one on my monitor has every so slight pinkish undertones to it but picks up the cream in your granite real nicely. Option #3 seems to have greener undertones and blends with the paint well. For me, either one should look great. I'm a glass fan typically.

I like #1 the best. We just installed that size subway tile, and I think it looks so pretty and very classic. I think you will love it.

Option 1 because option 2 is too busy with granite and that is a look that will be dated soon in my opinion.
