Hello. I have a KitchenAide Superba Dishwasher, Model # KDS-20, Serial # 122342827.
The door on the left-hand compartment (the Prewash compartment) of the Detergent Dispenser is not opening at all any longer, regardless of which cycle I run. The door on the right-hand compartment (the Main Wash compartment) appears to work pretty well, although occasionally it too will not open.

Thanks for the info. Cruising around the internet, I came across something called a Whirlpool Dishwasher Bimetal Dispenser Actuator (Part # 4162568 ), which if I got it correctly (and that's a big "IF" ), may be a companion part to the dispenser you referenced below. Is it likely I'm going to need one of these too? If so, where would I find it and how would I go about installing ...

But can I ask why you would put $100 into a 30 year old dishwasher? When other parts are coming up as not available?
Hate to see you spend $100 now, then 6 months later the timer or motor goes out and those other parts are either unavailable or cost to much to justify the repair to this old dishwasher?
