I'm looking at some of Kimber's 1911 line and was wondering what the general opinions of them are. Comparing them to H & K, Sig Sauer, Springfield etc... I know they are high dollar handguns and before I drop a grand+, I'd like to hear some opinions. Thanks
I toyed with Kimber vs the Springfield and eventually went with the Kimber. I just felt better overall, and had that bank vault feel about it.
I have the CDP II, and it's fantastic. Great trigger, bull barrel, no collet design, and the feed ramp is polished. I don't have to do a thing to it to get it where I want it unless of course I decide on an ambidextrous safety.
Look around...
Mike, they are real proud of them right now. I like you really like the feel and the finish. I went from the Kimber case to the Glock case and found a significant difference in feel. I'm sure they are good guns, but compared side by side, there is no comparison.

Not really fair to compare them to HK, as HK doesn't make a 1911 and Kimber doesn't make anything else. I will say, categorically, that HK's across the board are more reliable than any Kimber.
The same almost goes ...

I looked at the same thing not long ago and ended up with a H&K 45c. I didn't really test out the DA trigger on it, but the single action trigger is light and smooth. Shoots very well. I still want a 1911 sometime, just not sure when or what I will end up getting. My next gun purchase is either a new hunting shotgun or an assault rifle.

I've shot both the Glock and the Kimber, and I'm not impressed with the Glock at all. Don't ask how because to this day I...

I have the Kimber Eclipse and absolutely love it. I also own quite a few Glocks and love them also. That being said, IMHO, you will be hard pressed to find a better STOCK 1911 than a Kimber for the price you pay. Almost all of the Kimber's do the upgrades that are usually done to a 1911 in their standard package.
Shot a Kimber Polymer (the wide body) for years in IPSC, absolutely loved it. Would buy one of their single stack models in a heartbeat if I had the $$$.
