My dad bought me one when I turned 7 . I wish I had a dollar for every box of shells that thing has went through. I have a ruger 10/22 as well and my marlin will shoot circles around it all day. Its more accurate and fits a grown man better than a 10/22. If I had a marlin model 39A my .22 needs/wants would be met forever.

The wood stock versions are a shade heavy for a child....This synthetic stock is much lighter, and my son loves it.

messed up one day and backed a Toyota truck over my 60 ---------------- and it still was sighted in and functioned with no problems--- mines a KEEPER never for sale

Are you sure those are "missed" shots? It looks like a smiley face to me. Good shooting. I have 10/22 but am ALSO looking for a model 60 to add to the group. I agree .22LR is a great fun caliber.

I agree, looks like a smiley face to me too. I really like my 60. It shoots clean, dirty, everytime. Good rifle for not much money.

If I had a marlin model 39A my .22 needs/wants would be met forever. Tell me about it! My 60 is a tack driver. I don't care for guns w/ clips. Check out the 60 for sale in Swap n Sell. Ducks unlimited , carbon fiber, Stainless Steel... the thing is hot. cw
