Thread: June 19 babies

So have any of you started solids?  I'm not here to judge.  My LO hasn't and I'm just wondering if other ones her age are eating solids yet.  She's getting more ready, but we're still going to wait awhile. How are your LO's doing?

We haven't started, probably won't until around 6 months.  I have no opinions on when to start solids by the way :).  She was born 4 weeks early and is still wobbly holding her head, so I'm planning on waiting until she can sit up.

My son was born June 21. I do substitute rice cereal when I know that he's hungry and milk just isn't cutting it. I don't give it to him all day every day. I talked to my Ped and he said that if I felt comfortable enough, I could give it to him up to three times a day. He also told me to make sure that he has regular bowel movements as well. Every baby is unique and we should pay attention to...

Thanks for the input ladies.  I'm actually not undecided.  I know we aren't starting until she is at least 5 months, most likely closer to 6.  I was just curious what other babies her age were doing.

Emma is a June 19th  baby and we haven't started solids.. ok, we did try rice cereal once or twice and she kept shoving the spoon in her mouth, but we don't feed it to her anymore.. I just wanted to see how she would react.. She doesn't seem to care one way or the other what she's eating so Im not going to feed her cereal if she doesn't need it.. I REALLY want to feed her baby food though...

I agree - I wasn't looking for a debate either. Everyone needs to do what they feel is best. Numbers can be manipulated, though I don't think the AAP has any reason/alterior motive to manipulate data and delay babies from having solids.

Jillian is a June 5th baby and we wont be starting for another month. She wants solids but the Dr said with her allergies its best to wait until 6 months. Don't worry, it has become very common and often suggested to wait until 6 months.

My LO was also born on the 19th and I started her on solids at 3mos. on the recommendation of my ped. She started with rice cereal, didn't seem to care for that so I moved her to oatmeal. She takes that better. In the last two weeks, again on the recommendation of my ped, I started her on stage 1 foods. She's starting to get the hang of it now. I, personally, don't believe there are NO ...

My son Evan was born 6/19 also and we haven't started solids yet either. I EBF, had read a lot about it, and planned on waiting until 6 months. Then I went for our 4 month appt and my ped said there was no reason to start until 6 months - Evan was gaining weight well, healthy, etc. I know it makes people angry when it is said (although I don't know why!), but there is generally no reason to ...
