I've recently bought my first few J.L. cars at a Toys R Us here in Oz. The first was a black 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix which would normally retail for AU$6.99 but was on special for AU$2.00. That got me hooked. What a beauty! Later on I also picked up an olive 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo , a gold and cream 1976 Oldsmobile Cutless Salon and a 2000 Indy Car racer which were reduced to...

The Clue series were pegwarmers here in the states as well. At least you found some things for the right price.

Depends what line you are looking at. The current JL 40th Anniversary Series with a plastic base, plastic wheels and limited details retail between. $1.97-$2.50 depending where you buy them at. For JL's regular line, feature a metal base, rubber tires generally and additional details, seem to go $3.50-$5. Older releases like some of the stuff you found can go for $1-$3. The shelves never get restocked because they can't clear the "CLUE" or "PT CRUISER" series JL's. The "Clue" series is a nice set if you use brake cleaner and a q-tip.

2 or 3 years ago, there was nothing but Clue and a few older castings littering the pegs of most KB toy stores around my area in NY. Now, not only have the KB toy stores closed, but I'm lucky if I find any JL lately. WM was getting the first few releases of the 40th cars...at least a case or two of each...but they haven't stocked any of the last couple of releases. I spotted a few stray ...

..... and another friend of mine....... Sorry about the poor pic. That's about my entire JL collection because of all the Clue cars that are hogging the pegs here in Oz.

Depends what line you are looking at. The current JL 40th Anniversary Series with a plastic base, plastic wheels and limited details retail between. $1.97-$2.50 depending where you buy them at. For JL's regular line, feature a metal base, rubber tires generally and additional details, seem to go $3.50-$5. Older releases like some of the stuff you found can go for $1-$3. Just depends on how desirable the casting is among other reasons.
