Razor, 8mm, 10mm, New Gaskets for the valve body $2.00 for both, one 7/64 drill bit=free. New Trans Fluid 8quarts $40.00 Filter $17.00 Took an hour and a half,a few notes Dont waste your time removing the tranny cooler line to flush, just unbolt the pan,let it gush out slow, remove the filter and valve body-8mm bolts only. Barks 1-2,2-3 and at 45, Spins the tires easy! Nice mod for about $...
Oh ok good. Hour and a half, huh. Mine took about 4 but I made sure I went slow and cleaned the hell out of everything. Dropped 5 of the 8 check balls behind the workbench, had to crawl underneath and fish those out. Also forgot that damn screen so had to drop the pan and valve body TWICE. Hour and a half is probably right, lol.
that's perfectly normal, ive done AOD;s , this was really no different than a typical valve body gasket swap, . Kinda intimidating at first, but cake-work. I also done the spring delete,
Hrrmm...interesting mod. Gonna do a 'search' but will this work for a 1995 Vic ? Was thinking about a Level 10 PTS Hydrosystem (Valve body upgrade) but sounds like this does exactly the same thing. My tranny is brand new and I had a tranny cooler installed while it went in. I love quick shifts and it is one of the first mods I do to any of my cars since I drive only autos.
I had to remove my valve body to swap the solenoids/wiring in my 4r70w. I flirted with the idea of the J-mod, but I want to get the car running first, make sure it works well before modifying it. Plus my 4r70w is from an '01 GT Mustang so it already has the better accumulator pistons, etc. But your description of the results just makes me want to do it that much more.

yes let the tuner know if you have the J-mod or plan on doing it as it will make a slight difference. Lonnies tunes with the performance shifting option only increase line pressure during the shifts themselves.. J-Mod + Tune
What I love about valve body mods is the hp/torque 'jump' it gives in between shifts. When I always dyno'd my Subarus after a valve body modification, you could visibly see the jump in hp/torque with a valve body or shift modification. Most people dyno in 3rd or 4th gear. I always dyno from the bottom of 1st to the top of 3rd. I'd always stop when 3rd shifts to 4th. This way, I would tell what a modification does all the...
