It's been fun.... But after my Tribbie going in the shop 4 times in 3 months, and getting handed another $700 repair estimate, I finally had to throw in the towel. I ended up coming home with a silver 2006 Explorer XLT with 25,000 miles that drives like a giant marshmallow, and has led a cushy life as a commercial lease vehicle. Enjoy your Explorer threnners -- or should I say EscapeGrrl My father has owned three Explorers back-to-back since the early-1990s and I tried to get him to consider an Escape back in 2005 (the year after we took delivery of our new Escape Hybrid), but he was too used to the larger, more optioned Explorers (his latest also has the third row of seating).
