This amendment was put in to protect the Bill of Rights against a very serious objection leveled by Federalists against it. To quote James Madison: Quote: It ...

Reads through the entire thing* Well then..I'm going to guess you're for the public option then and not for UHC because then your argument could be argued against.

Silvia Crow replied 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I'm gonna go with "No", the Constitution does not guarantee universal healthcare, or anything of the sort.

Let us pretend the Constitution does require for the government to protect your health. The best way to do this is by supporting a private health care system, which functions more efficiently than a public one. As to your argument: Madison's original proposal and those outside references to the federalist papers did not make the final draft of the Constitution, so they do not hold as law. ...

Why should I follow the constitution?

Farksicle Why should I follow the constitution? Because the founding fathers wrote it! Do you know who they were?! They were some of the smartest men to ever grace the earth, and we should follow them with unquestionable resolve! They know what's best for the country and what will always be best!

cypherdtraitor LAs to your argument: Madison's original proposal and those outside references to the federalist papers did not make the final draft of the Constitution, so they do not hold as law. Because health care is not an enumerated right, it falls to the states, and then to the people. This means that the responsibility of maintaining and providing health care is a state issue, not a ...

To quote our Founding Fathers when considering the idea of leaving security and commerce up to individual states: Quote: The Same Subject Continued (Other Defects of the Present Confederation) From the New York Packet. Friday, December 14, 1787. Alexander Hamilton* Suppose, for instance, we were engaged in a war, in conjunction with one foreign nation, against another. Suppose the necessity of our situation demanded peace, and the interest or...

Mitoguard- Quote: Public education isn't a right, see, e.g., San Antonio Sch. Dist. v. Rodriquez, 411 U.S. 1 (1973). That said, when a state chooses to provide public education, it must offer it to all living within its boundaries, Plyler v. Doe, 457 U.S. 202 (1982). I have no idea what you're talking about when you claim education limits the freedom of the people. I quoted "right" indicating that I did not believe...

Hold on, I'll find the exact part of the Constitution that says it. I just watched that the other day, and I'm fairly sure he never says that. Could be wrong, but I'm really sure even Micheal Moore didn't say that.
