Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by zach

We decided last week that the leadership team (7 of us) would provide the main dishes and everyone else would bring sides & such. So, in our staff meeting, we're going around saying what we will bring. We hear chicken, turkey, meatballs, vegie lasagne, ham, and.....yam. Are you kidding me? When he said "yam" ...

I love yams and would welcome them at a potluck dinner; but as an almost vegetarian (eat a little seafood) with vegetarians and a vegan among my adult children - yams alone would not be considered a "main" dish. That is because it wouldn't really provide a primary source of protein.

Where I'm from, yellow yam is considered part of a main dish. It's usually served with a meat of some kind. I don't do rabbit food. (green stuff.)

I don't think it's the only thing he (or rather his wife) knows how to make. He just never seems to step up. He was supposed to plan an off-site for our team and when our boss nixed his idea of everyone going home at noon and then coming back in from 4:00 to 8:00, he just dropped out completely and the rest of us had to pick up the slack. So, now he has a family emergency and won't even be ...
