Thread: Is it just me... Or is this the best Indy film?

I know traditionally sequels are worse than the original, but i have to say, TOD has to be my favourite Indiana Jones movie.
Im not an idiot, i am a massive indy fan. i always have been since a very early age. One of the first movies i ever saw in my life was Raiders of the lost ark and i will never forget it.
But for some reason, TOD will always be my favourite one, for a few reasons.
It gets...
temple of doom sucked!
the entire thing was ridiculous and didnt have the same feel as the other two
the whole part where the guy grabs a persons heart out is so dumb and annoying its basically spitting on the last crusade and raiders of the lost ark. atleast the other to were somewhat believeable in a way. the whole voodoo *beep* in this movie is stupid and unbelieveable
Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom is not only the best Indy film, it's THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!

It's more consistently entertaining, imo, than the following two sequels (Last Crusade and KOTCS). It's one of the most completely bonkers, graphically violent 'family' films I've ever seen and I enjoy it largely just for that.
As a child, i saw this film, and some things about it stuck in my head, more so than other scenes, such as the temple itself, and the more rugged indy. So, when i came back to watching indy again, TOD was the one that felt like a proper indy for me.
Not that i don't like the others, Raiders and Crusade were obviously amazing, and Crystal Skull wasn't THAT bad...

You mean unlike the power of god melting nazis? Or a 500 year old paladin (Who speaks perfect english) living in a sectet cave? Or a bunch of aliens who can't escape earth because someone took one of their heads? To me, Hindi misticism is not that much of a stretch.
By the way, if you can't distinguish between Voodoo and...

The Indiana Jones franchise is a case of two good, two bad. I watched Temple of Doom last night and it's still crap. Kate Capshaw's Willie Scott and Ke Huy Quan's Short Round are the most annoying love interest/sidekick ever seen on celluloid and they effectively ruin the film. The Sankara stone McGuffin is crap and uninteresting, lacking aura, while the comedy, normally so well timed in Raiders and later on in Last Crusade, is...

Nope, you're absolutely right, and I'll tell you why: Indy has no help this time around. In the other films there are oodles of people supporting Indy. In this one, all he's got are a little kid (who IS helpful, don't get me wrong) and a whiny broad from Missouri. This movie is all about how friggin awesome Indy is, all by himself, and it contains the single coolest image from any Indy movie. That shot tracking up Indy as...

Temple of Doom is my fave action flick of all time. I could watch this 3 times in a row, and I def cant say the same for Raiders, Crusade, or Crystal Skull. The quad-ology is awesome but IJaTOD rocks supreme to me cuz it is straight up action that doesnt take a break. The other films have dialogue-heavy breaks in the action, numerous characters, and many locations. Temple of Doom keeps the characters to a minimum and once the plot really takes...
