If i'm not mistaken the contract states that the company can sub contract 27 percent of their volume.
When I read this before ratification,I commented that this will become a big issue....like Rush says "I was right"

You have to realize that the teamsters is no longer a freight union. They've moved on. Last teamster magazine, no mention of freight at all. Go to the teamster website and click on "contact us". There is a drop down menu to select what industry you work in, such as airline, hotel worker and such. Freight or trucking isn't even on the list. So get it through your head, the teamsters union does not...

I don't have a problem with the Union, I have a problem with a management that figures it can save a couple of dollars sending our freight on a contract truck.
How does the contract truck do it cheaper? They have drivers who don't make enough money to bath, or do laundry, sleeping for two days in the parking lot without pay, waiting for our load. Then they get a professionally loaded ...
it killed me to be a part time dock worker who had a CDL seeing 5 or 6 loads go out on a contractor everyday over the summer

your local is out to lunch there will not be one board....I bet not your local or any local in the country is at the negiotations for the the new contract as we speak....the locals are in the dark as is most of the members.....hoffa will do what he wants and sell you down the union river without a paddle...unite and speak up or just keep *****ing on the website.......
