Doesn't this work the 'other way' from the MXO? Allows DVI outputs to be recorded as HDSDI, rather than viewing video (eg. HDSDI) on a DVI monitor? Or have I misunderstood your question? Doesn't this work the 'other way' from the MXO? Hey Ben No, it works the same as the MXO's 'Presentation' mode in that it takes the extended desktop via DVI and converts it to all outputs. I've no doubt there's something that sets this apart, I'm just not clear what it is and am hoping I can cadge a response here ... and hey, if its just a rebadged/relaunched MXO thats fair enough ...

Ah - I see. Matrox seem keen to market this as a scan converter, rather than an 'all in one' solution. Perhaps that had to do with the success of the MXO2 line, and the need to offer a more limited product that would compliment it. Hello, I realise I am chiming in late, but I'd like to clarify what the ConvertDVI is. The physical form of the ConvertDVI is the same as the MXO, but the featureset, FPGA firmware, programming, etc.. atre not the same. For starters the ConvertDVI is configured via PC not MAC. Once configured, it can operate as a stand alone appliance that need not be connect to a computer. Once ...
