Thread: Interact won't home axes

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by Kevin77
Hello, My Interact S1Mk.2 was fine till yesterday. Upon powering up the machine, it runs the memory test, and then displays "power interupted." Hit CE, enable the drives, and then pressing Cycle Start should start the homing process, but nothing happens. I can hear a contacter in the spindle drive cabinet clunking when pushing the cycle start. 2 of the 4 LEDs on the servo drives are on. ...

Feedrate set to zero? George

Kevin77 replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Hi George, I checked that. This afternoon I will check that the pot is functioning and that the 12v supply is there. The 24v supply is ok. Could it be a fuse somewhere? I think the ones on the drives are ok as the LEDs are lit. Sure wish I could find a wiring diagram for this thing. Thanks, Kevin

To update: I checked the pots and the 12v supply for them, they are ok. I was able to get the cycle start circuit functioning. When I push cycle start, I get a humming noise from the filter choke associated with whichever drive is active. However, I get no DC out from the drives. They do have proper voltage going in. Turns out the transformers T1 and T2 were not properly tapped for my line ...

Have you checked that mechanicalaly all ball screws move the axies easy. if ok. check the analog input to drive cards before homing then check voltage while referencing with the feed pot full up. there should be a voltage present on the axis that is homing.

I checked the analogue output yesterday. There is none. The ball screws all move easily. Heidenhain tells me the machine is in a "feed hold" because the feedrate is highlighted on screen. They say some input somewhere is missing, and the control won't go because all external feedback is not being satisfied. The lube oil level is fine. Any other ideas? Also, i checked current going into the ...

Check your lubrication level and then check the float switch is working electrically.

On the BOSCH drives there are 4 green LED. Two are lit when drives are enabled, 4 are lit when drives are homed. Drives are enabled by relays. Look at the schematic. I do not have one in front of me. Check these first. What control model do you have? You may be able to access the outputs to verify the control is trying to turn the drives on. George

acording to my electrical drawings the lube switch drives 2CR. I belive it should be energised.

George, Two leds come on all three drives when the main feed contactor (5FC) turns on, via the power enable button. The other two come on on whichever drive is being activated when I press the cycle start. They turn off when i press cycle stop. The three enable relays, 12,13, and 14CR are turning on and off in similar fashion. But no analog output. Jon, The oil is topped up and ...

Hi Kevin. Think you will have to check the input voltages on the terminals at the rear of the Heidenhein. using a meter. Also check the regulated 24V is 24V and virtually ripple free. Check the joystick feed back and make sure the rapid signal is working OK. It will be possible to check all the signals at these terminals and one could disconnect reconnect or jumper the inputs for test ...

Need Help! Interact won't...

Problem solved! Turns out wire #65, the 24v supply, was loose on the main terminal strip in the spindle cabinet. Tightened it up and she's as good as now. Thanks Jon and George for your replies. Kevin
