I see that the new i7 is the way to go, but what about guys like me who just want a little upgrade on their two year old rigs? I am running this: Gigabyte mobo LGA775 (forget the model #) Intel E6750 @ 3.2 GHz 8GM ram 8800GT (Just bought a GTX725 on my lunch break, will install tonight) Now, I'm hoping this video card gives me a nice boost. I'm concerned that my cpu is now a slouch compared ...

If you've already got a compatible motherboard the q9550 still does a pretty good job of holding its own against the newer chips.

Moving to a quad core won't make a significant difference in most current games. However, upgrading to a q9550 certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

If you've already got a compatible motherboard the q9550 still does a pretty good job of holding its own against the newer chips.
