Hi everyone,
First post so I'll keep my problem as brief as possible, any and all advice is welcome.
Yesterday while at work I got a phone call of my missus (who was at home) when a bailiff turned up at the door informing her he'd come to collect an outstanding ?7,500 tax bill. She put him onto me and I talked to him, and surprisingly he was an OK guy, first encounter I've ever had with a ...
As christians we are tested by God. I look back to last year (my lowest point) and can see (with hindsight) God by my side. Fighting to pay back my debt has brought me closer to God than I have been in years and I thank Him for putting us in this position as i am now a better person. God has taught me a wonderful lesson and we will never be in this position again.
As mentioned before if you...
Well two months on and there is no change to the situation. Letters have been sent (recorded delivery) and have been received and now we are not even getting a response to our letters. This is getting more and more frustrating all the time, I feel these companies are just playing silly beggars now.
Would anyone agree that perhaps we should just start making manual payments even though a ...
Hi, i have been lurking and reading for a while. May i please join? I have had a DMP with CCCS since about 2003/4 and all going along as normal. Usual occassional hassle from some but have just come across a problem with first direct that never had in the past. They have accepted my cccs payment but have sent me what looks like loan papers this time (first time ever, with interest at 6...
We do a big shop of around ?60 a week for the two of us and the pets, including alcohol, then we get extra bits like bread or whatever throughout the month but we have really cut down. We tend to shop late at night when most goods are reduced and I try and save as many coupons as possible.
Many years ago.....my then husband and I adopted a rescue cat.......kept him in as prescribed.......and one day he disappeared .......I saw his tail hanging down from the bedroom chimney.....panicked ........and pulled hard.. ....he never went up there again
Don;t forget to butter his paws before you let him out ....no idea why but it worked for us

A couple of days ago I rang Barclays to make a payment, usually this is ?166.87 however I requested to pay ?200 which I was told was fine. When I checked my internet banking they have only taken the usual ?166.87, OH said this is because it is a loan agreement so I can't pay more than the amount agreed, is this correct? If so i'm worried that I won't be able to pay to my 3 loans off any faster?...
I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum, but here goes. I have a student loan from uni (?13,500.00 approx.) and another ?4.300 (approx) on a 0% credit card.
My wife and I are moving to Norway in the nex 3 months (for good) and I was considering getting a loan to pay off the c/c, as not having a UK address would mean no more 0% balance transfers every 6 months or so (as I have been ...

Hi Lincs I'd suggest you allow for road tax, MOT, car servicing, tyres etc in your budget. What are you currently spending the £575 surplus on? Is it going on overpayments? I'd suggest you clear the capital one debt first as it has the highest APR, you could clear this debt in easily within 2 months leaving you to focus on the overdraft. Are you using the overdraft as your current account? If you are struggling to reduce this each...

Cancelling the DD is the only way to stop payments and you incurring charges. Its better to cancel and have outstanding membership than have all the months failed DD charges too. But gym memberships are very solid contracts and there is almost no why out of them unless the gym cannot provide the service (major breakdown of a facility). I am afraid i do not think there is anything you can do but pay what you can afford to the DCA that owns the...
I've got a headache now... The flights had booked, going out on Jan 4th, coming back on the 8th. But then I realised that the hostel I'd seen actually said 'from' £9 a night, and it's actually going to be a total of £72 instead of £36. Decided to book it anyway, but it only accepts visa or mastercard, as do the second and third cheapest. Phoned my bank cos I was told a couple of months ago that my Maestro is...

BB, it's always the way with car accidents, even when you're not at fault you're made to feel like you should be extra grateful for all the 'hard work' they are doing on your behalf, and woe betide you if you don't comply with every teeny tiny instruction they bark at you. How are the injuries?

As per the second post, if you do any sort of debt arrangment (DMP,IVA or BR) in which you pay less than the originally agreed for unsecured debt, it will affect your credit rating which may well affect your future choice of mortgages. However, whatever arrangments are made, secured debts like mortgages are...
