Thread: Incorrect download for AVG 9.0

When I try to download AVG 9.0 (9.0.686) I get a file labeled avg_free_stb_all_8_37_cnet.exe instead of avg_free_stf_90_686a1719.exe. I download the correct file from Techspot

File name maybe different depending on site, when you downloaded it from CNET Download.com did AVG work when you installed it? let me know. Thanks! -Lee

I had the same problem. But worse was to come. The download manager got stuck at the checking connectivity screen. Had to close it manually. Wouldn't progress any further on subsequent tries and then found I can't delete the download manager from my desktop (where CNET said to put it). Was trying to replace AVG Free 8.5 with AVG Free 9. Using XP Professional on a Toshiba laptop ...
