I'm very sorry to hear your op was cancelled. As far as the weight loss, my weight dropped to 68 pounds and it took awhile for me to start gaining, probably because of the healing from surgery and a few infections which made my metabolism higher than normal. For me, I just ate anything and everything my body and stomas can tolerate. There are some foods that if I eat too much of I pay dearly, with alot of pain and then an overactive...
Hi Snowy, Sorry to hear your op was cancelled, but as you safe, better to do it when you're at your strongest. Re gaining weight, the best thing you can do is bulk up on high carb but low fat foods. Make sure you've got a good amount of protein for muscle building/repair (between 1.2 - 1.8g protein per kg of bodyweight depending upon how active you are). If you want to be quite strict about it, for a balanced diet, have 50-55% carbs,...
snowy.. Sorry to hear your op was cancelled and that you've been poorly with the virus. Arh, Snowy, what a shame for you. I just spotted your 'Gggrrr-ing' on facebook & thought it might be something to do with your op. As for the putting on weight, not really sure apart from the usual ie, chocolate, cheese, chips, cake...how odd, they all begin with c!! Hope the next couple of weeks fly by for you & your back in before you know it xxx
Oh Fi, gutted you didnt get the op.... What a bummer (ha ha) Seriously, I am gutted - dont know what to suggest re building up weight as I know that its so difficult when you have the bag.. I piled wait on after the reversal and I was eating the same foods as before the op. Good luck tho, I am sure you will do it and attack this set back as you do everything else in your life, with strength and determination (and a sense of humour). Hope the...
