Thread: I'm a convict. Help me escape the country.

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by runout_mick
Half a lifetime ago, when I was 18 yrs old or so, I was convicted of theft (fairly substantial, $10k+). It seems that three people can only keep a secret if two of them are dead. It was at a very low point in my life, and I have been straight as an arrow ever since. It hasn't really affected my life too adversely. I've always just assumed that I'd be unable to leave the country ...

I think you can even enter the US if you haven't been convicted of treason, sympathising with communists or involvement in the holocaust. Everywhere else you should have little problem.

You should be fine. Border control rarely checks for this kind of thing and most countries don't care at all. I don't forsee this being any kind of problem.

Not what I expected. Contact the embassy of where you wart to go. Apply for waiver.

Let's talk about actually fleeing the country. Those threads are fun.

If this happened half a lifetime ago, apply for a pardon. http://www.pardons.org/ Quote: When can a person apply for a pardon? An individual is eligible to apply for a pardon once they have completed the sentence ordered by the judge, and have waited the necessary time period based on their charge. How do I know how long to wait before I am eligible...

OP, You were convicted right? I assumed you went to jail and all that. So since you have paid your debt to society, why would it matter if you want to leave the country?

ItalianFX replied 1 month, 1 week ago
Based on the disparity of the thread title to the actual thread OP, I have a feeling that the title conveys more of the truth than what the OP is leading on. He is basically a fugitive and wants you guys to help him figure out how to flee the country so that he will never be caught. Basically, he murdered 2 of the guys who were in on the deal with him.

Interesting story. Any thoughts of revenge on the girl who spite called the police? BTW over in the UK we have a foreign office who can basically advise us on all international travel (jabs to get, local laws, where not to go). I'm sure the USA must have something similar. EDIT: This maybe a useful start: http://www.state.gov/
