I think we could trade Lee to Boston if they don't sign Bay. Lee is expensive so we would proably have to take Lowell and his 12 mil for '10. Not too bad it gives us a year stop gap at 3rd and the 12 mill is much cheaper than Lee's 18.5 mill for 3 more years. But, maybe we could get Lowrie from them. If they sign a FA SS, they obviously don;t see him as the future. As unrealistic as many ...
"The problem Bush did was to strengthen the Executive branch beyond its constitutional given powers." Not exactly. The executive branch was weakened by the Congress after Watergate and Bush elevated its power back to where it was under Truman, Eisenhower and JFK (one of the things will be duly noted in his legacy). The difference is, Bush used the power of the presidency to prevent another ...
He is still playing hard and may be the brightest spot on the team this year, ---------- No, that would be Bourn. Can Tejada: Yes Will he: Probably not Update: (according to Sherwin) Yes - 2,057 No - 4,583
"Therefore, you are ridiculing the Mariners for signing a great lead off hitter." In fairness, it sounds like the Mariners will bat his 2nd behind Ichiro. I do still think it's a fair deal though. They will field the best defensive team in the majors by a pretty good margin. Combine with their park and I have no doubt they won't have a problem with run prevention. The real question is whether their offense can...
So just to make sure, before I laugh at you as I have never laughed at anyone before, you are saying that Feliz is a superior player compared to Figgins?
The Feliz deal is better than the Figgins one monetarily, but Figgins is a better player. Double the salary better? Probably not, but both teams did okay for themselves. Four years is a long time, though.
A leadoff hitter at 3rd base makes sense IF you have a catcher, 2nd baseman, and CFer who hit for power. Chone=David Eckstein with a touch more speed=$4-5 million. He is a 2nd baseman/CFer that is playing out of position. Seriously, lets trade Matsui to a team and package him as an elite 3rd baseman.
Though I don't know the order, there are two classes in our division. St. Louis, Milwaukee and Chicago (ouch) - probably in this order. Houston, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh - also probably in this order. I would expect much more movement within each group than between the groups.
He's (Obama) into redistributing wealth not growing the economy...You grow the economy through Capitalism he is attacking Capitalism at every level...The auto industry, the banks, healthcare, printing and borrowing money, as you pointed out through unemployment extensions, other handouts, tax increases and this cap in trade bill will crush small business, big business and the average American (due to doubleing their energy bills)...plus...
