I am new here so hello all, Big time Ford fan... wish I never bought the one Dodge I own.
Ok this is a very interesting idle problem...
1992 F250, 85k Miles, 4x4, 351 Windsor
Ok so on first fire-up... the truck Idles just fine. Typical high Idle on cold start-up.
After the engine warms, about 1/2 the time my Idle swings UP and down, revving then sometimes nearly dieing but only when ...
Sounds like the TPS to me too. Do you have access the the equipment needed to trouble shoot it?

I do not have access to the necessary equipment :(

Problem getting worse and worse.
Idle surges up and down, about 70% of the time when the engine is warm. Sometimes it goes away completely. Please read all of the below points.
The Battery Gauge is very low without starting the car. It DOES start, even in 10 degree temps, so I dont think the battery is shot. The alternator charges when I hit the gas very quickly and efficiently....
can someone show me where the throttle is? it isn't carborated, it's fuel injected? I am not mechanically savy, I have minimal, basic knowledge. Where should I check for bad grounds? Any pictures? Glad to see I am not the only one!
Charge- the reason I was looking for that TPS link earlier was to help with my roommate's jeep. Displaying the EXACT same symptoms. Cranking was slow but it would always start but idle super low. It would sometimes die or studder at idle, the trip kept resetting and the interior lights were dim. HIDs, although they say they'll work at down to 9v wont, they'll cut off at close to 10.5. My OEM HID's don't even stay lit...
my 93 f150 with 302 is doing the same thing. does the normal high idle on startup, then sometimes surges a little bit. when the engine is warmed up, taking off from a stop it'll sputter with 1/4 to half throttle and be just fine at 3/4 to full throttle. just changed the tps, o2 sensor is about 6 months old, plugs and wires are less than a year old, fuel filter is about a month old.
Im having the same crap with my 91 Bronco . I have cleaned everything , i could i have check fuel pressure . changed the IAC , cleand cap and rotor . and the EGR valve aswell . all parts r less than a yr old .. plugs r good . Now im thinking TPS ....i checked grounds aswell alt is new starter new just rebuild the tranny took that down to check to see if the filter was flucked ... changed soliniod pack just incase it was torq lockup ... and...
Oh the Wooes of the Newer Broncos, my only simple resolution to all of this is, Yard all that computer crap out, along with the EFI. Make it simple Carb Ignition these things are so easy to diagnose. I know this is not really a feasible choice but i just had to say it.
