Thread: I was watching a show....

today and heard a fact that still leaves me wondering.. How big is a trillion dollars? A "1" followed by twelve zeros, fair enough. But to put it into perspective, if you spent one million dollars every day, it would take you 2740 years to personally burn through a trillion bucks. Just about as long as some of the Egyptian pyramids have been around. Takes your breath away.

That\'s pretty amazing, never thought of it that way. I also recall watching a show once talking about the "google" (which is a "1" followed by 100 zeroes). It\'s simply impossible to fathom a number of that magnitude, let alone the "google plex" (a "1" followed by a google zeroes).

Check out Wolfralpha.com It\'s a computation search engine. You can type things like "1 trillion dollars over over 100 years" and it\'ll tell you things like this: I recently used it to find out this: Congress will be borrowing 9 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. Thats 900 billion dollars a year ($900,000,000,000.00), which works out to about $102.7 million per hour (102,700,000....
